   • Hyper text mark up language
   • Used to create a webpage, such as
     • Head
       • Title
         • Body
           • Style
             • Font size and so on
     • Basic format of a tag is of the form:<Tag> text </Tag>
       • Tags are used in a web page to provide information about the page
       • Example:<title> BBC -Homepage </title>

2. CSS

   • Cascading style sheets
     • Define the formatting of elements of a web page
     • Defines things like colour, font, text alignment, size, borders, table sizes and so on.
     • makes it easier to have a consistent formatting In all of the pages of a website.
   • Means that any changes to the formatting on the style sheet will automatically apply to all of the web pages that reference the style sheet.
   • CSS follow the syntax of:
     • Identifier {property: Value}

3. Dynamic Webpage

   • If the contents of the database are changed, the website is automatically updated at the same time.

4. Database-Driven Website

   • Uses scripting language like SQL
   • Links database content to the website

   • Provides interaction with the user
