1.1 Memory

1. MAR

   • Memory Access Register
   • Either stores the memory address where data will be fetched to the CPU or the address which data will be sent and stored

2. MDR

   • Memory Access Register
   • The register of a computer's control unit that contains the data to be stored in the storage

3. I/O Controllers

   • Input / Output Controllers
   • Used for Keyboard, Mouse, Disk Drive and VDU (Visual Display Unit)

4. Data Bus

   • All data/instructions are returned on the data bus

5. Address Bus

   • Carries addresses from the processor to main memory or other I/O devices

6. Control Bus

   • Control signals are sent along the control bus (Memory read & Memory write)

7. Peripherals

   • Any devices that are not directly connected to CPU.
   • Mouse, Keyboard, Printer, Hard Disk, Drive, CD-ROM Drive
