1. Motherboard

   • The computers main circuit board
   • The motherboard connects directly or indirectly to every part of the computer e.g it holds the CPU and the memory and has connectors to the hard drive.

2. Hard Drive

   • Where your software, documents and other files are stored
   • It is the long term storage data saved even if you turn the computer off and unplug it.

3. RAM

   • The systems short term memory disappears when the computer Is turned off

4. CPU

   • Carries out commands whatever you input it goes to the CPU
   • It is located in the mother board and is covered by the heat sink

5. Power Supply Unit

   • Converts power from the wall to the type of power needed by the computer

6. Sound Card

   • Is responsible for what you hear in the speakers or headphones
   • A sound card can go into the expansion slots
