1. Inisde the atom

   • The Structure of the atom
     • A positively charged nucleus composed of protons and neutrons
     • With electrons that surround the nucleus
     • A nucleon – a proton and neutron in the nucleus Nucleon number – the mass number
       • Each type of nucleus is called a nuclide
       • Coulomb (C) – Unit of charge equal to the electrical charge transferred by a steady current of 1 Ampere in 1 Second
         • Elementary Charge (e) - Electric charge carried by a proton or equivalently the absolute value of the electric charge carried by a electron (as electron is negatively charged)
     • An isotope is a atom with the same number of protons, but different number of neutrons.
     • Specific Charge is its charge divided by its mass
   • Stable and Unstable Nuclei
