1. Symbol Definition

   • something that someone intends to stand for something other than itself
   • Types of Symbols
     • Visual: Pictures
       • Manual exploration of Pictures

2. Dual Representation; pipe picture example

   • Scale Errors (18-30 months): -scale size: baby trying to get in to toy truck -scale model: using room model to find toy
