1. Input

   • An Input Device captures data ans sends it to a computer system.
   • Input devices convert physical movement, such as key pressing, or enviromental data, such as temperature, sound or light, into electrical signals. There are two types of input devices : manual and automatic.
   • A manual input device requires a human hand to control it. Such as a keyboard, mouse, scanner, camera, joystick, tracker ball and a graphic tablet. *Input device task list is in folder*
   • An automatic input device inputs data without the need for human intervention (once the device has been set up). Such as barcode reader, microphone,sensor,micr etc. *output device task sheet is in folder*
   • Allows you to input data into a computer system

2. Output

   • An output device is used to display or use information that comes out of a computer system into sound, images and text and movement. Sound includes speakers, images and text is for screen projectors and printers, and movement is for the actuator electric movement.
   • An output device converts electric signals from a computer system. Output devices convert electrical signals from a computer system   
   • allows you to view or use information from a computer system
