Pauli Exclusion Principle
It Affects all families of the "fermions"
- The Fermions are particles with half-integer spin
- They can be Quarks , Electrons and Neutrinos
- Enunciated by Ernst Pauli in 1925
- This establishes that two electrons in an atom can´t have identical quantum numbers
- Applications
- No two fermions can exist in identical energy quantum states
- Applied to atoms
- NO two electrons in an atom can have identical quantum numbers. This guides the modelign of the buildup of the Periodic Table
- Applied to solids
- NO two electrons in a solid can have identical energy states . This leads to the concept of the Fermi Level in the band theory of solids
- Applied to atoms
- No two fermions can exist in identical energy quantum states
- Applications
- This establishes that two electrons in an atom can´t have identical quantum numbers
- The Fermions are particles with half-integer spin
