The CPU,RAM,ROM and virtual memory.
The CPU is the brain of the computer,it processes all the information and uses the cycle fetch decode execute to complete the task it is given which is called clock speed.
- Factors influencing the performance of the cpu would be the cost, the clock speed so how many times it could do the fetch decode execute cycle
- Components of the CPU: e.g: the ALU which stands for Arithmetic Logic Unit and performs arithmetic and logical operations. There is another component of the CPU called the CU which stands for control unit , which extracts instructions from memory and decodes and executes them, calling on the ALU when necessary.
The RAM is volatile memory which means it is never the same and it is all deleted when the computer is turned off.The more RAM you have the more applications and tabs you can have open at the same time.
The ROM holds all the boot up instructions in acomputer and is not volatile memory so it always stays the same.It basically starts up all the components in the computer and gets them running.
Virtual memory helps make the process of transferring data from the ram to the cpu more fast and efficent .
