   • Input
     • Information received through the SENSES from our environment
   • Storage
     • The RETENTION of information
   • Output
     • The information is RETRIEVED
   • ENCODING - turning sensory information into a form that can be used and stored by our brain
     • Acoustic Encoding - stored as sound (STM)
     • Visual Encoding - stored as a picture (STM)
     • Semantic Encoding - storing the meaning (LTM)
   • Performing of operations on sensory information such as encoding.
