1. TYPES

   • RING
     • Each network device is connected to 2 other devices, forming a loop
   • BUS
     • All computers and servers are connected in a line to one cable with terminators at either end.
   • STAR
     • All computers and servers are connected to a central hub.

2. ADVANTAGES

   • Devices can be shared to save money e.g. printer
   • Files can be easily shared between users
   • Security is fairly good as users can't see other users' data

3. DISADVANTAGES

   • Hackers may be able to gain unauthorised access to a network with private or sensitive information
   • They can be expensive for maintainance and initial setup costs
   • Requires training and management as it can be very complex
