HOW THE HUMAN MEMORY WORKS

  1. Although there is a lot of knowledge, the brain is still considered by scientists to be an organ of many difficulties in understanding.

  2. Our brain is responsible for interpreting, organizing and maintain various events captured by our sensors.

    • Our memory can be divided between
      • Sensitive memory
        • It keeps the information we have just received from our senses in a very short time.
          • EX: when you see something and close your eyes, you are still able to see the image for a very short time.
      • Short memory
        • It is also known as “working memory” and allows you to remember something that just happened. The party responsible for this is the “limbic system”.
          • EX: when you remember someone's address, while getting directions.
      • Long memory
        • They are located in the “hippocampus” region and it is the memory that remains in our brain for a long time. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to remember them or remember them instantly because it is a recurring thing in your daily life.
          • Ex: meeting someone on the street and needing time to remember that person's name or your own name, recurring from your daily life.
