Origin
- It gets its name after both the labour and conservative government aligned to get Britain ‘back on its feet’ after WW2 even though they had their political and ideological views and beliefs.
- It started after the election of Clement Allee in 1945 and ended with Margret Thatcher (prime minister between 1979-1990)
- The consensus covered the domestic social and economic situation as well as foreign affairs.
