Computer performance
Cache
- Cache is a small amount of memory, somewhat similar to RAM, that temporarily stores data for the CPU that is likely to be reused or needed again
Clock speed
- The clock speed is the speed the CPU can complete the fetch, decode, execute cycle
RAM
- RAM stands for random access memory. It stores programs, files etc while they are currently being used. It is volatile which means the data is lost when the device is turned off.
Cores
- Cores is the number of independent processes that can perform the fetch, decode, execute cycle simultaneously
- The more cores, the faster the CPU will execute instructions. This will improve the computers performance
- Cores is the number of independent processes that can perform the fetch, decode, execute cycle simultaneously
CPU
- The CPU fetches, decodes, and executes instructions.
