Computer Performance

1. RAM

   • Stores the programs, parts of the operating system and the files currently being used.
   • RAM is volatile ( The data is not stored when the computer system is switched off.
   • It is volatile because it will lose it`s data if the power is turned off.

2. Cores

   • The fetch decode execute cycle is included in the CPU
   • The number of independent processors in the CPU.
   • A CPU that contains one or more processing unit
   • Each unit is called a core which contains an ALU

3. Cache

   • It is used to temporarily hold instructions and data that the CPU is likely to reuse.
   • A small amount of memory which is a part of the CPU.

4. Clock Speed

   • Clock Speed is measured in Hertz (Hz)
   • The number of Fetch Decote Execute cycles a CPU can perform per second
   • A high - speed storage medium that can be accessed with minimal dislay.
