Intelligence - Julie Hak

1. Fluid and Crystalized

   • Fluid intelligence involves our ability to reason and deal wit information while crystalized intelligence involves with knowledge and skills

2. Emotional Intelligence

   • The ability manage your own emotions in a positive way to relive stress ad communicate effectively
   • "Emotional intelligence brings together the fieds of emotions and intelligence by viewing emotions as useful sources of information that help one to make sense" (Salovey, para.3)

3. Triarchic Theory

   • The idea of there are three different types of intelligence: practical, distinct and analytical

4. General Intelligence

   • Made up of all the different cognitive abilities

5. Multiple

   • Describing different ways that students learn and take in information
   • Lingusitic
     • Skills that involve language and the ability to use it
       • 6- I am not very high in this area because I sort of enjoy reading and writing, but not all that much
   • Instrapersonal
     • Being aware of your own emotions and motivation
       • 8- I am high in this area because I am very well aware of my own feelings and am always in tune with what I'm feeling
   • Musical
     • Tasks involving a musical aspect
       • 9- I have been playing the violin for 7 years now, so I am good with rhythms and counting
   • Spatial intelligence
     • The ability generate, retain, retrieve and transform visual images
       • 10- I am high in this area because I enjoy art a lot and overtype of art I like and also I enjoy doing puzzles
   • Bodily kinesthetic
     • The ability to manipulate objects and use variety of physical skills
       • 4- I do not have the best hand eye coordination, so I am not that good with physical movement
     • "Dancers, athletes, musical instrumentalists, actors, surgeons, and people who work in machanics, have well developed kinesthetic intelligence" (Gardner, Pg.5)
   • Logical-mathematical
     • Skills involves some sort of problem solving or scientific thinking
       • 5- I think I can be good at calculation ad scientific thinking, but I am not the greatest at it
   • Interpersonal
     • Ability to understand and interact effectively with others
       • 8-I am high in this area because I can tell how people feel very easily and I am good with dealing with people
   • Naturalist
     • The ability to identify and classify elements of the environment like objects and animals or plant
       • 9- I am high in this because I like to be in nature and just be surrounded by it because it makes me feel connected with the world
     • "The results indicated that the students problem-solving skills with high naturalists intelligence were better than those with low naturalists intelligence" (Suhirman, 2019)
