Natural resources

Natural resources

1. What is a natural resources

   • A natural resources is any product obtained from the earth
     • The wood is natural resources that can be taken out of the forests
     • The minerals is a natural subtance that are extracted from the earth such as iron, gold, copper, diamond and gold
     • There are renewable and non-renewable resources, the renewable ones are plants and animals and the non-renewable ones are minerals, fossil fuels and soils.
     • the natural resouces are resouces that the earth make like a water, land, tree, oil, and others
     • The water is a natural resources because he is a mineral that earth give.

2. Types of naural resources

   • The types of natural resorces are those that come from the earth such as water, minerals, rocks, soils and animals.
     • Renewable resources
       • Renewable resources are those that are regularly available (like water) or can be reasonably replaced or recovered, like vegetative lands. Animals are also renewable, they can reproduce offsprings to replace adult animals.
       • Renewable resources that come from non-living things such as water, sun, and wind can be called inorganic renewable resources.
       • Renewable resources that come from living animals such as trees, plants and animals can be called organic renewable resources.
     • Non-renewables resources
       • Non-renewable resources are those that cannot be replaced once they are destroyed
       • Some of the non-renewable resources are fossil fuels, minerals are also non-renewable because, although they are formed naturally in a process called the rock cycle, but it can take thousands of years, which makes them non-renewable resources.

3. Distribution of natural resources

   • Natural resources are not evenly distributed around the world, some places are more endowed than others; for example, some regions have a lot of water.
     • Examples
       • China is one of the largest producers of gold in the world, with a 14% share of global production.
       • Russia, the united States and Canada are the main producers of timber and pulp.
     • Many countries have developed their economies using the country's natural resources. Some also get a lot of income from the resources, in the form of tourism and leisure.
     • International and local trade has its origin in the fact that resources are not evenly distributed on top of the earth.
     • Some countries use their wealth in resources to control and manipulate regions with fewer resources.

4. Resource recovery

   • Resource recovery is the separation of certain materials from the waste we produce to use them again or turn them into new raw materials for use again.
     • In recent years, waste that arrives in the landfill is considered a resource that can be reused and not something that should end up in the landfill.
     • Many communities have places that residents can drop off waste that they have already sorted from their homes.
     • Resource recovery benefits us because it reduces our need to use new raw materials, thus saving the environment. raw materials, thus saving the environment.
     • Recycling old materials uses less energy than recycling new raw materials. raw materials.
     • Think of wastewater and stormwater as another example. The demand for potable water can be reduced if we can divert all wastewater and stormwater for treatment and re-use.
