"Multicultural is premised on the idea that education should acknowledge and build on the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of learners" (Woolfolk, 2013)
There are 2 specific aims of multicultural education
- 1. Equality which is making sure that every individual is treated the same, no matter their gender, race or sexuality
- 2. Difference which is aimed to recognise the cultural diversity as a positive

Having a multicultural classroom is critical when in a classroom because it gives the students...
- A sense of comfort with their peers
- A more engaged classroom
- A safe, accepting and successfull learning area
- A wider knowledge that their are multiple historical perspectives

- A sense of comfort with their peers
Having a classroom that is multicultural is something I plan for in the future. I want my students to feel safe in their learning environment
