1. Historical Theories of Intelligence

   • 1. The capacity to learn
     • 2. The total knowledge of a person has acquired
       • 3. The ability to adapt successfully to new situations and to the environment in general

2. Current Theories of Intelligence

   • The recent definition captures these elements and stresses a higher order of thinking
     • Intelligence is "The ability to reason deductively or inductively, think abstractly, use analogues, synthesize information, and apply it in new domains" (Kanazawa, 2010, p.281)

3. Learning Disability

   • "Problem with acquisition and use of language; may show up as difficulty with reading, writing, reasoning, or maths" (Woolfolk, 2013)
   • As said in Woolfolk, 2013, "There was no fully agreed defintion

4. Learning students needs are particularly important in the classroom, because you need to cater for every single student in the classroom, whether they have intelligence, or if they have a learning disability.
