Cascasding Style Sheet

1. What is used for ?

   • Format the layout of webpages
   • Define
     • Text Styles
     • Table sizes
     • Other aspects of the HTML that previosuly got defined by HTML
   • CSS are also helpful in formatting other aspects of web page layout.

2. Once the style is defined in a cascading style sheet, it can be used by any page that references the CSS file.

   • This allows a style to be changed across several pages at once. 

3. Web Developers

   • Help web developers create a uniform look across several pages of a website
     • Instead of defining the style of each table and each block of text within a page HTML, commonly used styles only need to be defined once in a CSS document. 
   • CSS gives web developers more exact control over how webpages will look than HTML alone.
     • It enables developers to separate style from content when designing a website. This improves the maintainability of the application. 

4. Links to other files.

   • If a cascading style sheet is being used by a webpage, the head section will contain a link to that style sheet.
     • <link rel = "stylesheet" type = "text/css" href = "styles.css">
   • The head section may also have a link to a JavaScript file if JavaScript is being used in the body section of the page for interactivity.
     • <script type="text/javascript" src="script.js"></script>
