    1. Authority - power given to someone to take command on the behalf of others. It is usually accepted by the majority of people
      1. Power and authority can exist without the other:
        1. A bomb-wielding terrorist may have power but not authority
          1. A teacher might have authority without genuine power
            1. A police officer in a tactical firearms unit may have power and authority
