1. A database is where data can be stored and it's easy to access. Although the database can be process and can be took out and be used somewhere else.

   • paper base
     • police records
     • yellow pages
     • advantages
       • can't be hacked
       • good physical security
     • disadvantages
       • harder to backup
       • can be destroyed easily
     • school records
     • paper based recods can be a pain to sort and to make. These are hard to back up in case of an emergency. It would take hours or even days to back up paper based rrecords if you are photocopying them as there could be thousands of records.

       • takes up less room
     • disadvantages

     • doctors can have the same database about their clients information and records. they get updated everytime the person comes into the gp,hospital or local surgery
