1. A database is where information is stored.

   • It can be physical or digital.

2. Why do we use a computer to store data and not have physical data?

   • We use a computer so we can backup the data and retrieve it if the first copy is destroyed.
   • Another reason we use digital data is so we can easily access the certain data we want.

3. What information do you think the school stores about you?

   • Date of Birth
   • Name
   • Grades
   • Age
   • Allergies
   • Gender
   • Behaviour
   • Parents contact details
   • Siblings

4. Computer

   • Student information is stored digitally so that teachers can easily retrieve info.

5. Paper

   • The Yellow pages are examples of a physical database.
