1. Spike Prime Robot

   • Motors
     • Large Motor
       • high torque and the primary drive base
     • Medium Motor
       • High speed and compact builds
   • Distance Sensor
     • The Distance sensor measures distance to an object or surface using ultrasound. It works by sending out high frequency sound waves that bounce off any object in range, and measuring how long it takes sound to return to the sensor
   • Other Sensors
     • Touch/Force Sensor
       • it can detect if it is being pressed and the amount of force being applied
   • Colour Sensor
     • The colour sesnor has three main mode, colour, relected light, and ambient light

2. Coding Constructs

   • IF Statement
     • An IF statement is a conditional statement in programming that, if true, performs a specified function or display
       • A selection statement uses a condition to select which line of the program will be used next
         • E.g The first IF block allows you to check if a condition TRUE then run another block
   • FOR loop
     • A FOR loop is used to run specified lines of code repeatedly and it is used for when it is known exactly how many times to go round the loop
       • E.g The repeat block is the equivalent of a FOR loop. Repeats an exact amount of times
   • Other code contructs
     • WHILE LOOP, IF, IF ELSE
   • Array
     • An array is a fundamental data structure in coding used to store a collection of multiple elements under a single variable name
       • e.g scores [100, 300, 275, 400]
   • Variables
     • A Variable is a named container used to store data values in a computer's memory
       • E.g user_age and player_name

3. Algorithm Constructs

   • Assignment
     • Assignment is storing a value in a variable
       • DECLARE player_name DECLARE player_score SET player_name TO Emily SET player_score TO 500
   • Sequence
     • Sequence refers to a set of instructions that are processed one the after
       • for example, making a bowl of cereal
         • 1) Get a bowl 2) Get cereal 3) Pour cereal into the bowl 4) Get the milk from the fridge 5) Pour milk into the bowl 6) Get a spoon 7) Enjoy your cereal
   • Selection & Condition
     • A selection statement uses a condition to select which line of the program will be next
       • IF Bubble tea ordered THEN IF payment received THEN OUTPUT “Bubble Tea ready soon!” ELSE OUTPUT “Please complete your payment” ENDIF ELSE OUTPUT “Please place your order” ENDIF
   • Iteration
     • Iteration is also called repetition and is used when something is repeated, so anything where the program goes round in a loop
       • FOR Loop example FOR 3 steps MOVE forward ENDFOR
         • WHILE Loop example WHILE object distance GREATER THAN 5cm MOVE forward ENDWHILE

     • Use sensor(s) to avoid or manoeuvre any dangers or obstacles.
