      • Using the python language created in Thonny
    • You must use a WHILE loop
      • The game must have a minimum of at least 1 WHILE loop
      • A WHILE loop allows the game to keep running as a specific condition remains true
    • You must use variables that match your storylines
      • The story must use variable names that have to relate to the storyline. For example, for a medieval times game should not have variables called ‘spaceship’ or ‘choice’ as they don’t relate to the topic
      • Variable names must be used in the correct pseudocode syntax.
      • For example, ‘space_choice’ is acceptable ‘river choice’ is unacceptable
    • You must have at least two choices for each input (IE. Yes | No, Left | Right, Buy | Sell)
      • The story must have user input allows the user/player to have their own input

    • assignment
      • Assignment is storing a value in a variable
        • START DECLARE RobotName SET RobotName TO ”R2D2” OUTPUT “Welcome to the team, R2D2!” STOP
    • selection & condition
      • A selection statment uses a condition to select which line of the program will be used next
        • IF Bubble Tea ordered THEN  OUTPUT  ‘Bubble Tea ready soon!’ ELSE  OUTPUT "Please place your order"   ENDIF
    • iteration
      • Iteration is also called repetition and is used when something is repeated FOR loop or WHILE loop
        • FOR 3 steps  MOVE forward ENDFOR, WHILE Loop Example: WHILE object distance GREATER THAN 5cm  MOVE forward ENDWHILE
  4. Ideas for story

    • lost city
      • someone wakes up arriving in a lost city, maneuvering through unknown dangers

  5. Existing test-based adventure games

    • Forest of lyrica
      • The Forest of Lyrica is an interactive, text-based fantasy adventure game where players must navigate a dark, enchanted woods. By making choices that alter the story's path, you interact with magical entities and try to survive, leading to multiple distinct endings.
        • The Forest of Lyrica offers high replayability and deep immersion through impactful, choice-driven storytelling that changes with every playthrough.
        • The Forest of Lyrica can feel slow or repetitive due to heavy reading, a complete lack of visual graphics, and the trial-and-error frustration of sudden "game over" choices.
    • Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy
      • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a famously difficult 1984 text adventure game co-written by Douglas Adams. Playing as Arthur Dent, you must escape the destruction of Earth and navigate a series of abstract, unforgiving logic puzzles—such as the infamous Babel Fish puzzle—using text commands. The game is highly celebrated for its dry, mocking humor and its chaotic tendency to actively mislead or trap the player in unwinnable states.
        • The pros of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game center on its exceptional, chaotic humor written directly by Douglas Adams. It delivers witty, adaptive text responses to almost any command, relying on your imagination to build a rich atmosphere, making it a celebrated milestone in text-adventure gaming.
        • The cons of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game center on its notoriously brutal difficulty. It features abstract, illogical puzzles that frequently trap you in permanent, unwinnable states without warning, alongside a strict move limit that punishes experimentation and forces heavy reliance on a strategy guide.
