Existing text based adventure games
- Colossal cave adventure
- Colossal Cave Adventure, also known simply as Adventure, is a historic text-based game created in 1976 by Will Crowther and Don Woods that became the blueprint for the entire adventure and interactive fiction genre.
- Strength: The game brilliantly pioneered interactive fiction by blending real-world cave mapping with fantasy elements, creating the blueprint for the entire adventure genre.
- Weakness: The primitive two-word parser and brutal trial-and-error mechanics forced players to constantly fight rigid vocabulary limits and unfair, sudden deaths.

- Zork series
- Zork is a landmark series of interactive fiction and adventure video games set in the ruins of the fictional Great Underground Empire (GUE)
- Strength: The series featured an incredibly sophisticated text parser and a witty, satirical world that turned the player's imagination into a vivid graphics engine.
- Weakness: The gameplay was notoriously unforgiving, frequently trapping players in unwinnable "dead-end" states or killing them instantly without warning.

Algorithm constructs
- Modularisation
- A software design technique where a large, complex program is broken down into smaller, independent, and interchangeable building blocks called modules.
- Iteration
- Iteration is the fundamental programming construct that allows a block of code to be repeatedly executed.
- Selection and condition
- The condition is the test (True or False), and selection is choosing which path of code to run based on that test.
- Modularisation
Coding constructs
- For loop
- A for loop in Python is used to iterate over a sequence (like a list, tuple, dictionary, set, or string) or any other iterable object.
- IF statement
- In Python, an if statement evaluates a condition and executes a block of code only if that condition is True
- For loop
