1. What is an expert system?

   • An expert system is a computer software that try's to act like a human expert in certain subject areas.
     • They are used when human experts are not available

2. How does it work?

   • An expert system is made up of three parts.
     • 1. A user interface- This allows a non-expert to question the expert system and receive advice.
       • 2. A knowledge base- This is facts and rules
         • 3. A interface engine, this acts like a search engine.
