    1. There's the idea of 'Nature v Nurture' Mrs Lyons tries her best to make Eddie her own, Bringing him up how she desires; however Eddie still finds ....

        1. Superstition is introduced into the play by Mrs Lyons that if Mickey&Micky find out the truth they will die.
          1. which becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy . We are constantly reminded this by the narrators song 'shoes on the table'
