Inheritance
- In general terms, inheritance is the relationship between superclasses and subclasses. This is because subclasses inherit properties from superclasses, commonly adding their own as well.
Relationships
- If a relationship existed that 'Vehicle' was the superclass and 'Motorbike' was the subclass. An instance of 'Motorbike' would also be an instance of 'Vehicle'
- Superclass
- Passes properties down to subclasses. Normally used to represent a general category (eg Vehicle)
- Subclass
- This inherits properties from the superclass. Used to represent more specific categories of objects (eg Car or Motorbike)
