1. What is an algorithm?

   • An algorithm is a plan, a set of step-by-step instructions to solve a problem. Like tying shoelaces, making a cup of tea, or getting ready for school.
   • In an algorithm, each instruction is is identified and the order in which they should be carried out is planned.
     • They are sometimes written as a flowchart or in pseudocode.

2. What are they used for?

   • Algorithms are used for many different things including calculations, data processing and automation.

3. Uses in the everyday world...

   • Performing daily routines like waking up, bushing your teeth and making lunch
