1. Firewall

   • Prevents harmful data entering your computer.
   • Used to help your computer network from intruders.
   • Controls any programs coming into your computer from data packets.
   • It controls which programs can send.
   • Used when program is trying to connect to another network.
   • A firewall will be used for data packets to your computer another one for programs
   • It stops your computer from dangerous programs which could make your computer have a virus.
   • If you dont have a firewall data packets could come into your computer which could lead to viruses.

2. AntiVirus

   • It can scan you computer periodically which means in intervials (weekly).
     • Periodically means it scans your computer at a set time every week so it keeps your computer away from a virus.
   • It can protect from malicious software.
   • Should be used on email attachments and downloads.
   • Needs updating regularly to make sure there are no threats on your computer.
   • For an antivirus it could lead into your buissness being hacked which could your site being down you losing customers. Which also means that you are losing money. Which then means you will lose profit.

3. Encryption

   • Many things will be needed to be encrypt, they will be encrypt from a key.
   • To encrypt a message you will need to use a cipher which is to a word which will describe to break a code.
   • Encryption is when a message is being wrote but there is a key what has the answers.
   • You decrypt a message by firstly finding out the key. normally all encrypted messages have a key.
   • You decrypt a message by finding out the key. If you don't have a key it will be very hard to try and find out what is the encryption.
   • Websites use encryption to make sure they are not hacked and not to get into personal logins.
   • Encryption is a way of sending data with out any one knowing what in there. making sure data is safe when going to different places around the internet.
   • Decrytion is when there is a message when you need a key to try and find out the encryted message by using a key.
   • A cipher is a method to write an encryted message.
   • The key is used to try and find the encryted message. You need a key to try and find out the encryted data
   • https means that the data you are putting in or out is secure.

4. Security

   • When you buy products online you have to make sure it is a secure website. Also you have to make sure there is a HTTPS which means it is secure.
   • When you open emails or links you have to make sure you know who the person is that it has come from. if you don't your computer could have a virus.
   • If you downlad a free item it may cost you money without you knowing so overall you must have real evidence to show that it is a secure website.
   • Another reason why you should be careful is operning and putting in a password to look at it. this might be fake and they could take your password and all of your details
   • Logging on to websites are important. this is because if they dont have https that means it isnt that reliable. but then also so people canm get https when it is unsafe but if this happens you can click on the https and it will tell you where it is from.
   • Writing a secure password is very important for every thing. it must be something what no one else will know. that could mean it is personal and it is long enough for you to remember.
   • When you make a password you will need to make your password with letters, numbers and symbols.
   • A secure password will a range of different letters, numbers and symbols. With letters you will need to use a range of lower and upper case and your password will need a minium of 8 characters. This will then mean it will prevent hackers or introuders to get into your files and steal your data.
   • Phishing starts off with emails when a person who sent it tries to be someone but they are actually so one else. When you go onto that website it will then ask you for your email address and password. If you then put that in it will steal your password and the intruder could get into your accounts.

5. Malware

   • Malware is a designed product to damage your computer.It can give viruses or any damages to your computer.
   • The trojan horse is a malicous software on your computer.
     • It is where a hacker can get into your personal details.
     • The trojan horse is very different from the virus, zombie and the worm.
   • The zombie is a computer connected to the internet by the user and it takes over your computer.
     • Most of the time the user probably doesn't even know that he is doing a zombie.
   • A worm is when a single computer hacks into other computers.
     • It dosent need a program to attach itself.
   • Malware is also known as malicous software.
