5. Actus reus is similar to s.20 in that it requires either a wound or GBH

   • There is very little difference between the words 'cause' and 'inflict': BURSTOW

6. The mens rea is more serious than s.20.

   • D must INTEND to do GBH or prevent/resist arrest
     • May be direct or indirect intention
     • Where D intends to prevent/resist arrest, he must also act maliciously.
       • Must be intention or recklessness that V might suffer some harm: MORRISON
