use conditional

  1. would

    • Is an auxiliary verb that represents the endings of Spanish verbs -ria, -rias, -ríos, -ríais and -rían, for example, would buy, live, come, etc. It is the one used for the conditional form in English.
      • To form questions with would, the person or subject and the would be reversed and we have the structure:(Interrogative word) + would + person or subject + verb
        • To form the negations - phrases or questions - is added not back would not form that would not usually contract would not, for example:
          • I would go
            • In the positive phrases would it be possible to contract 'd. In fact, the natives usually do it when speaking and when it comes to writing less formal.
  2. omiting if

    • Omitting if - The First Conditionals In If Clauses Type 1, we can make inversion by omitting if. We only use "should" instead of "if". We don't change anything in the form of first conditionals at all
      • Example Sentences: If we go by train, it will be cheaper. Should we go by train, it will be cheaper. If he doesn’t hurry, he will be late. (NEGATIVE) Should he not hurry, he will be late.
        • Omitting if - The Second Conditionals In this type of inversion, we omit if and use were + subject for to be verb and were + subject + to for other verbs. Example Sentences: If I were a carpenter, I would build my own house. Were I a carpenter, I would build my own house.
          • Omitting if - The Third Conditionals We don't use if and make the structure as “Had + Subject + verb3” If you had told me, I could have helped you. Had you told me, I could have helped you. If the teacher had helped me, I wouldn’t have had to go the library. Had the teacher helped me, I wouldn’t have had to go the library.
  3. wish

    • We use the conditional formed with desire and simple past to express a desire about an unreal situation
      • Wish + Past simple
        • Used to express a wish about an unreal situation
          • example : I wish I were rich (but I am not)
      • Wish + Past Perfect
        • Used to express a frustrated desire about the pas
          • example :I wish I had learned English when I was younger.
      • Wish + Would
        • It is used to express dislike or irritation about something that happens and that probably can not be remedied
          • example: I wish you would stop making that noise
