Extreme Programming (XP)

1. This is a form of agile programming

   • It is a 'code-first' idea
   • Constant iteration whilst the code is developed

2. First Iteration

   • This is the outline plan
   • How the feature will be tested and how it will pass that test
   • This is used with two programmers. The first one programs and the other programmer critiques and tries to spot problems

3. Further Iterations

   • Customers and project team go and update the plan for the project at a meeting, this is called the planning game
   • Step 1 is called "Release Planning" this confirms which features are working as intended. It also includes the next set of requirements the software needs to include
   • Step 2 is called Iteration planning. The team will determine how the requirements will be split up and who will code those specific tasks

4. Under Extreme Programming, the delivery date is never known before hand
