   • it is important that you have a firewall because a firewall controls which programs can send and receive data packets from. the main programs would be the most trusted ones. a firewall also helps protect your computer system from unauthorised users/intruders.

2. Anti-malware

   • Anti-malware protects your devices from viruses and it is important that you keep it updated. Anti-malware also scans periodically for viruses. it should be used when downloading new software from the internet.

     • The computer will be scanned everyday at the same time. this is Anti-malware because firewall is used Before the virus enters the computer so when the virus is already in the device, it is upto the anti-malware software to get rid of it.

   • Should be used when downloading new software from the internet.
   • Protects against malicious software
   • Needs updating regularly to make sure that it knows the latest threats
   • Should be used on email and attachments and downloads
   • it is important that you have an anti-malware system because it will help to protect your computer from any viruses corrupting or deleting your storage or files. it is also important that your computer updates periodically (at the same time regularly). this will help keep your computer up to date will all the latest threats and viruses.

3. Passwords

   • Passwords are what lock your devices and secure them from things and people. it is needed to stop another person from logging into your account.
   • Passwords are important because they protect your personal belongings from unauthorised users and criminals. it is important that your passwords are safe and secure.

4. Encryption

   • Encryptions are secret codes that protect information and data from unauthorised people who are trying to access certain files. it is also used to scramble data being sent over a network so that it can't be read unless you have the key.

   • Caesar cipher
   • this is needed so that if someone tries to intercept with the WiFi they wont be able to guess the code because it will be encrypted with numbers, lover case letters, symbols and upper case letters. there should also be a key so that the data packets can be decrypted. any websites should be encrypted with HTTPS otherwise they aren't completely relible.
