1. Firewall

   • A firewall is a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private network.
   • Stops intruders/ uauthorised users from accessing your computer system
     • A uanuthorised user is a user which trys to access your computer without permission

2. Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware

   • Anti-virus scans your computer periodically for malware
     • periodically is where for example you or your computer scans it so it can see if it has malware
       • malware is a virus for example viruses,worm,zombie and trojan horses

3. Passwords

   • passwords need at least 8 characters long
   • Passwords should have upercase and lowercase letters , numbers also symbols e.g cH33seC@ke
   • A profile is your account when you log in . A profile has your personal files and settings

4. Encryption

   • Encryption scrambles data packets using a cipher so they cannot be read by unauthorised users
     • A cipher is a method (way) of encrypting a data packet

5. Phishing

   • A phishing attempts to steal your personal information by sending you an email pretending to be a genuine wedsite/company
     • A genuine is a real and exactly what somthing is said to be
