Parts of the Universe

1. Stars

   • Spend most of their life in the main sequence stage.
   • When giants die they become white dwarfs, and eventually black dwarfs.
   • After the main sequence they become giants or supergiants
   • When supergiants die they make a neutron star or a black hole.

2. Nebulae

   • Filled with tons of gas and dust
   • Where stars are created
   • They are the only way that stars are formed.

3. Galaxies

   • Biggest things in the universe
   • Each one contains hundreds of millions to billions of stars
   • they are constantly moving because of the big bang.

4. H-R Diagrams

   • Measures a stars brightness and heat.
   • Heat is on the x-axis and it goes hottest to coldest from left to right.
   • Brightness is on the y-axis and is called luminosity as well, it also goes brightest to dullest top to bottom.
