HYPOTHESES

  1. What are the hypotheses?

    • They are the guides for an investigation or study.
    • They indicate what we are trying to prove and are defined as tentative explanations of the phenomen investigated.
  2. When are they used?

    • It depends on an essential factor that is the initial scope of the study.
      • Not all quantitative investigations raise hypotheses, just those that tray to forecast a number or a fact.
        • The scope of study esploratory, do not formulate hypotheses; the correlational formulates correlational hypotheses; the explanatory formulates causal and descriptive hypotheses only when data are predicted.
      • Qualitative studies usually do not formulate hypotheses before collecting data (although this is not always the case).
        • Made by: Hernández Romo Laura Leticia
  3. Where do they come from?

    • They arise from the approach of the problem. And also they may arise even if there is not abundant theoretical information
  4. Are they always true?

    • The hypotheses are not necessarily true, may or may not be true, and may or may not be verified with data.
  5. What characteristics should a hypothesis have?

    • It must refer to a "real" situation. The variables or terms of the hypothesis must be understandable, precise and as concrete as possible. ble. The relationship between variables proposed by a hypothesis must be clear and credible (logical). The terms or variables of the hypothesis must be observable and measurable. They must be related to available techniques to test them.
  6. There are types of hipotheses, which are:

    • RESEARCH HYPOTHESES
      • They are also called work hypotheses. They are tentative positions on the or possible relationships between two or more variables
    • NULL HYPOTHESES
    • ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESES
    • STATISTICAL HYPOTHESES
  7. VARIABLES

    • What are the variables? A variable is a property that can fluctuate and whose variation is capable of being measured or observed.
