   • Wallerstein
   • Idea that the world has an economically developed core, and an undeveloped periphery
     • Capitalist core keeps periphery in a state of undevelopment by; exploiting cheap resources, taking skilled workers and selling expensive manufactured goods

3. Theory of economic man

   • Theory that everyone acts in a way to benefit themselves
   • neo-liberalism = promotes free market theory (No government interference)
   • Altruism = Taxing the wealthy to pay for benefits for the poor
