ROBOTICS

  1. WHAT ARE THE ROBOTICS

    • Robotics is a part of Engineering and Science. It has to do with the creation and building of robots, as well as computer programming. ... Some robots look like humans, but most just look like machines. Robotics comes from the word robot, which in turn comes from the Slavic word robota. Robota means labor, or work.
      • IMPACT OF ROBOTICS
        • Robotic labor machines can produce vastly higher quantities than humans, creating higher supplies of finished goods. The robots present manufacturers with a savings in costs as well, paying much fewer wages to humans and paying slightly higher overhead costs for electricity and machine upkeep
          • SENSORS,CONTROLLERS,AND ACTUATORS
            • A sensor is a device that changes a physical parameter to an electrical output. As against, an actuator is a device that converts an electrical signal to a physical output. ... In contrast, actuators are used in the LED, loudspeaker, motor controllers, laser, etcetera.
  2. WHERE DOES THE WORS ROBOT COME FROM

    • The term comes from a Czech word, robota, meaning "forced labor"; the word 'robot' was first used to denote a fictional humanoid in a 1920 play R.U.R. (Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti - Rossum's Universal Robots) by the Czech writer, Karel Čapek but it was Karel's brother Josef Čapek who was the word's true inventor.
      • ROBOTICS CLASSIFICATION
        • There are six main types of industrial robots: cartesian, SCARA, cylindrical, delta, polar and vertically articulated. However, there are several additional types of robot configurations.
  3. TYPES OF ROBOTS

    • A simpler, more complete definition of robotic types can be narrowed down to five types: Cartesian, Cylindrical, SCARA, 6-Axis and Delta. Each industrial robot type has specific elements that make them best-suited for different applications. The main differentiators among them are their speed, size and workspace
      • THE ARCHITECTURE OF A ROBOT
        • In architecture, robots have mostly been used to choose and position materials, such as bricks. Using multiple robots, architects can control movement, and coordination, as an alternative to design and programming, followed by fabrication and construction. Robots are ideal for real-time design and construction
