1. Audio

   • Types
     • Duration
       • Duration of the sound (short, long)
     • Pitch
       • Quality of sound easily noticed by any listener
     • Timbre
       • Quality in which two sounds can be distinguished from one another (same sonority and pitch)

2. Color

   • Newton discovered sunlight decomposes into a spectrum of seven other colors
   • Hue
     • The element that allows us to identify each color
   • Saturation
     • The purity of the color (The amount of light relfected)
   • Brightness
     • The amount of light emited by the reflection of the surface of the object.
   • Primary RGB (mix all get white)
   • Secondary (mix of 2 RGB)
   • Tertiary (mix of a mix of RGB)
   • CMYK ( Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, black, Mix all get black)

3. Line

   • Dot: Simplest form of visual communication
     • Ex: Putting a dot on a map
   • When two dots come together they form a line.
   • Endings
     • The way the line ends (Smooth, pointy, irregular)
   • Body
     • Relationship between the width and the edge of a line
   • Whole form
     • General Appearence of the line (crooked, straight, irregular)
   • Lines may form outlines
     • Equilateral triangle
       • Geometric shape with 3 sides
     • Squared
       • Geometric shape with 4 sides
     • Circle
       • Round geometric shape

   • Figurative
     • Easily identified by users or observers
     • Natural forms
     • Artificial Forms
     • Verbal Forms
   • Abstract
     • Resembles something in real life
   • Calligraphic
     • Freehand Forms (only pen and pencil)
   • Geometric
     • Straight, round, and arc lines

       • Person who receives the message

       • How the message is sent

       • Signs that make the message

   • Positive spaces always indicate emptiness
