   • Once in power, Hitler could use the regimes resources
     • power and terror used to aid elimination of opposition
   • 'Legal revolution' and 'revolution from below' were both used by the Nazis
     • Two sides of the same coin
     • 'Revolution from below' was unleashed by the SA, where violent towards political opponents
   • January 1933
     • SA were the Nazi's main instrument of terror
     • When the Nazis came to power, the SA expanded rapidly
       • 500.000 members in January 1933 to 3 million members in 1934
     • Activities of the SA gained legal authority
