1. Minimalist techniques

   • Addition
     • Ostinatoes are added slowly into the piece, slowly increasing its texture
   • Phasing
     • When one idea is played slightly out of time then is "phased" until it matches the rest of the melodic lines
       • NOT ACTUALLY USED IN THIS PIECE
   • Panning
     • When certain tracks are played through separate speakers, creating a 3D effect and making the thick texture seem less cluttered.
   • Subtraction
     • Much like addition, except the ostinatoes are slowly removed, decreasing the texture.
