To Kill A Mockingbird - Chapters 29-31

1. Jem is still unconscious after the attack, Scout is telling her story.

2. It dawns on her slowly that Boo Radley rescued them.

3. Atticus take a while to realise exactly what happened during the attack.

   • At first, he believed that Jem had stabbed Bob Ewell. (Jem would have to face the consequences)
   • Heck knows that it was Boo who killed him.
   • They decided to put out that it was Mr Ewell that fell on his own knife, to protect Boo.

4. Scout takes Boo home, she never sees him again. Yet, standing outside the window where Boo always sits, she finally understands what life must really be like for him.
