There are electrons, neutrons and protons in an atom. These are called the subatomic particles which every atom is made of.
Electrons are the in the outer shell of the atom and protect the nucleus. Electrons have a relatively negative charge.
Neutrons and protons are present in the nucleus. Neutrons have a relatively neutral charge whereas protons have a relatively positive charge.
Atomic number is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom. Mass number is the sum of protons and neutrons in the nucleus.
Noble gases are non-reactive as they have a shell of electrons which is made up of 8 electrons in total.
