urban: city

suburban: residential area around a city

people change environment based on needs

Ex: cutting trees for lumber

possible result: deforestation

Ex: farming for food

possible results: loose soil, erosion, lack of nutrients, pollution(fertilizer and pesticides)

Ex: oil shipment

Possible result: pollution of land and/or water

how to prevent pollution:

clean energy sources

hydroelectricity

windmill

solar power

public transport/carpooling
