Secondary Storage

Secondary storage is also known as external storage that is not under direct control of the computer's CPU. So basically secondary storage is used to back up primary storage by replicating itself and holding a second copy of itself. External hard drives, USB sticks, CDs, DVDs and cloud backup are mainly used for secondary storage. So as you can see we use secondary storage a lot. We need it in case we lose important files and documents that we save on the computer.
