Key Assumption - Organisation is a network of power relationships
Further Assumptions - A controls B and can decide to do or not to do something that is important to B
Power is unequally distributed
However relationships are bilateral
Individuals pursue their own interest, and pursue others if it is in their interest to do so

Control of information and communication channels
Interpretation of organisational rules
Organisational Change and Micro-politics
Seeks to transform status quo of power relationships
Change will be in the interest of some individuals
Also will be against the interest of others
