| What is RFID and how does it work? | Radio Frequency identification- a chip which uses radio waves to transfer data to a tag on a person or object so it can be tracked. These tags contain information which is stored so that it can be transferred. For example in a cat flap the cat flap will contains a RFID chip. When the correct cat comes to the flap the flap will open as it has transferred the data which fits the data it is programmed to allow. If a different cat comes to the flap, it will not open as the data in the tag is not identical to what it is programmed to accept. |
