Preterite Tense (Past Tense) The simple past e.g. I ate, I wrote, I asked: AR: é, aste, ó, amos, ásteis, aron ER & IR: í, iste ió, imos, ísteis, ieron
Imperfect Tense (Past Tense) Used for things that 'used to happen' or 'were happening' E.g I was working, I used to work AR: aba, abas aba, ábamos ábais, aban ER & IR: ía, ías, ía, íamos, íais, ían
Perfect Present (Past Tense) Always contains 'has' or 'have' in it e.g I have spoken, I have eaten He, has, ha, hemos, habéis, han + ado OR ido
Perfect Past (Past Tense) Used to indicate an action that had happened before another action was completed in the past Había, habías, había, habíamos, habías, habían + ado OR ido
Past Participle (Past tense) To find these in English, just put I have in front of the verb E.g 'eaten', 'drunk', 'said' -ado/-ido
Present (Present Tense) Used to describe what you're doing at the present moment in time/routinely AR: o, as, a, amos, áis, an ER: o, es, e, emos, éis, en IR: o, es, e, imos, ís, en
Present Continuous (Present Tense) Used to indicate what is happening at the moment of speaking/ when one action is happening at the same time as another e.g. I am talking, I am eating Estoy, Estás, Está, Estamos, Estáis, Están + iendo OR ando
Present Participle (Present Tense) Recognised in English as verbs ending with -ing -ando/-iendo
Simple Future (Future Tense) Used to say what you will do in the future e.g. I will swim AR, ER & IR: é, ás, á, emos, éis, án
Immediate Future (Future Tense) What is going to happen in the future e.g. I am going to work, I am going to study Voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van + a + infinitive
Conditional (Both past and future tense) Recognised by the use of "should" or "would" in English e.g I would swim, I should do my homework AR, ER & IR: ía, ías, ía, íamos, íais, ían
