Question Answer
The periodic table a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, ordered by their atomic number, electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties.
Transition metals a metal which forms one or more stable ions which have either half filled or fully filled orbitals
Non-metal Elements with relatively low boiling points, that are poor conductors or heat and electricity.
Halogens Group 7 or 0 elements that get less reactive as you go down the group
Atomic size the atomic radius of a chemical element is a measure of the size of the atom. This is the distance from the center of the nucleus to the edge of the electron cloud
Ionisation energy The amount of energy requires to remove one outer electron from each atom in a mole of gaseous atoms to form +1 ions
Electron Affinity The amount of energy that is release when an electron is added to a neutral atom or molecule in its gaseous state.
Ions and Salts Ions are positively or negatively charged atoms. Salts are chemical compounds from and acid base reaction H+ is replaces with metal or other positively charges ion.
Ionic Bonding Ion is bond if the transfer of electrons bonding a positively charges ion with a negatively charged ion.
